To feel 'fit as a fiddle', you must tone down your middle.

I am not doing too hot on keeping this up am I?!? I will try harder.

I feel good. Last week I didn't do any strength training. Poor planning on my part as well as my best friend had her baby girl! I was bad and canceled on my fabulous trainer. She was very kind and understanding. I also didn't realize, or just didn't pay attention to the fact that I should have been doing abs every day I work out, not just some times. Ooops. But I've been set straight and I'm back on track. I did strength Monday and Wednesday and will do it on my own today without Robin. I've done cardio every day, except Wednesday so I made up for it and did an hour yesterday. :-) James says it looks like I've lost some size as well as gained some muscle. He thinks mainly in my arms. I keep meaning to put up all my measurements and goals, just haven't done it yet.

Twice as Nice

So today I went to workout after work. I got in 30 minutes of cardio but it felt like crap. So, after Bible study, I went back to another 30 minute session and now I feel much better. Praise Jesus.

I have to exercise in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing. ~Marsha Doble

So I did cardio on Thursday. Don't ask me what? I don't remember.
Friday I was super busy and didn't feel like waking up so it got skipped.
But on Saturday, I did an hour of cardio. It was great. I slept in, got the rest I needed and then worked out. I watched "16 and pregnant" on MTV. That show sucks me in, especially this particular episode. The girl and guy had this level of communication and love for each other that was at a much higher level of maturity then most adults it seemed. They had been together since 7th grade. Their home lives were completely unstable, their parents met, obviously when they started dating, and got married. The boys dad spent most of his life in jail. The girls mom was horrible to her. Straight up called a b**** on the phone, on the show. The kids recognized that they did not have a stable home, ad much as they wanted to keep their daughter & already loved her, to give her up for adoption, without the support of either of their parents. The couple they chose was a Christian couple, sounded like they were from the south. They seemed super sweet. Anyway, it was an emotional workout. I walking on the treadmill just crying away, wiping my eyes, trying to pretend it's sweat. Good workout. :)
Sunday, yesterday, I didn't male either. So, today after I get off work, the plan is to hit the gym!! :) I put my workout clothes on this morning so I won't even have to change.

The toughest part of a diet isn't watching what you eat. It's watching what other people eat.

Day 3
Robin came over again today. Strength training day two. I really enjoy working out with her. She knows what she is doing, and is encouraging and positive as well.
I couldn't do the fun squats today because there were people using the treadmills. So I had to start my morning workout off with the normal, horrid squats. I really do prefer the jumpping around, it works out my ADD as well. Today was still challenging but u think for different reasons. We did the same workout, I just didn't have to have it all modeled today. So it flew buy and I didn't really have any rest between changing exercises. Needless to say my heartrate was up and I got a bit sweaty, both good things. I can steady tell a difference in my abilities as well. My pushups today were easier. My upper body strength had never been anything to show off. For example, funny story which probably won't get done justice on here- one day in my classroom we were relaxing, eating smack on the carpet after recess. Some of my girls were finished and asked what they do next and I said, just relax and chillout, cool off a bit before we move on. So they did but in a little kid way, they started to play- by doing push ups. They were laying their bodies out on the floor and lifting up at their arms but instead of letting their upper bodies come down they were basically swinging their little behinds up and down. Pretty cute and funny! So, me being the expert push upper I stopped them and said, "you're not doing it right. Watch me.". So I get down on the floor, lower my body and realize, what the crap was I thinking. I don't do push ups!!!! Oh well, I've already opened my big mouth and I push up. I honestly thought my head might explode. I hot through TWO and asked them to try now. And we move on. The next evening, I am home with James and start to complain about how much my pecks are hurting me. As usual he asks what I did and I couldn't remember then it hits me, those gosh darn push ups, all two of them are what has caused this horrible pain! Never again! LOL! Then robin came over for my physical assessment and told me I would have to do as many push ups as i can in a minute!! WHAT?!? A whole minute. I cranked out like 15 or something, not a lot and I was put in the "very poor" condition on arm strength. Awful. We're working on it!!

same ol, same ol

So today I did cardio. I started with 20 minutes on the elliptical. I did change one thing up though, I up'd my resistance so that maybe it would be harder and I'd be able to raise my heart rate and at the same time also make it harder to get my heart rate up in the future. Hope all that makes sense. Then I did 15 minutes on the treadmill. While I was in there the cleaning lady was vacuuming. I think it annoyed her I came in and worked out anyway but what's a girl to do? My muscles are a little sore today but they are sore enough to make my sleep a bit uncomfortable. I woke up at 3am and took an Advil, well worth the walk to the RR to get it. If you know me, you know that I DO NOT like to wake up, get out of bed, anything once I'm in bed and definitely once I've gone to sleep. Thankfully I don't ever have to use the RR during the night. :-)

1st Actual Workout with Robin, my personal trainer

One word: challenging!!
She has prescribed I do a 75% cardio/25% strength weekly workout! Today was my first strength day! Robin created a 30 minute total body killer workout that I will do twice a week for 4 weeks! I loved it. I already feel it in my body. For my cardio routine, I need to get in about 180 minutes of cardio a week, about 30 minutes a day.
At the end of the four weeks, we'll re-evaluate and start something new.

I have slacked for the last year but hope this is the end of all slacking!!
